Christmas Music Online

Hi everyone! During this time of year I like to occasionally listen to some holiday music, but I don't want to dig out all of my holiday CD's that are buried in my bins of decorations. So, I found some radios online that I can get my Christmas music fix, without all that extra work!

Here's my little list:

1. My number one go-to online radio is AOL Radio. I really like their large selection of music, their minimal commercials, and the ability to skip a song I'm not very fond of. This is the station I choose to listen to majority of the time.

2. This second one is one I don't use to often, but is very popular!   Pandora radio, I feel like  Pandora has a smaller selection of Christmas music, unless you know that exact song you want to listen to. It also doesn't have the stations broken up into the type of Christmas music (classic, pop, country) it seems to be lumped together. This is still a great site to use and the stations sound really great on it.

3. This last station,  Accuradio, I have never listened to beyond testing it, but I like the Christmas feel it has. It's brightly colored with green, red and Christmas pictures, which makes it kind-of fun for the holidays. Since I haven't listened to it for very long, I'm not sure what their commercial breaks are like, but I can tell you I had to listen to a commercial before I even listened to my first song. With the first two stations on the top of my list, you really don't even need this one, but everyone's preferences are different.

AOL Radio and Pandora radio both have Apps for your IPhone or other gadgets so you can listen to them on the go.

How do you listen to your Holiday favorites?

  1. I love to listen to Christmas music while I'm on my computer or in my room here making cards, etc. I like Pandora, but you do have to categorize the music you listen too, classical Christmas, traditional, rockin' holidays, etc. and once that's done, you type a song you would like to listen to,and they play that type of music. If you check the like or dislike button while the music is playing this helps, but is kind of annoying. After a while if you're not letting them know which music you like or not, they stop the music and a box comes up and says Are You Still Listening? which is also annoying.

I like the Accuradio, but some of the music is just not for me, but I always listen to the Traditional channel and love the music they play. There are a couple of others I like there too.

Now I've not listened to AOL Radio, but I will definitely check it out. Thanks for sharing this! Hope you have a nice weekend!

  2. Hi Dorothy, thanks for the input! I guess I'll have to play around with Pandora some more. The reason I had trouble with it is because when I type Christmas in their search bar, only one station showed up. Maybe I need to explore the website more to see if there is a better way.
I agree with your opinion on Accuradio, some of their Christmas music can be quirky.
Thanks again for this post! Getting peoples opinions helps us all learn a little something.
    Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Great sites! Thanks for posting :-) I have listened to Pandora but not the others. I will be trying them out for sure. Hope you have a great weekend!!

Ps. I am a new follower of yours too! Love your blog!

  4. Hi Mandie, Welcome to my blog. I am so happy to have you as a follower! Im following your holiday blog as well. Have a great weekend!

  5. I use a service called Ventrilo to chat with my friends online. It's cheaper than a phone! At times, when we're going to be on for a while, I like to open pandora on a second computer and stream radio into Ventrilo for us to all enjoy together! It's great.

I love your comments, they make my day!!! :-D
I will try to reply to each and everyone of them either here or on your blog, but if I get caught up and dont get a chance to reply, rest assured, I read every single one of them and they always make me smile!
