Weekly Cheer: Christmas Trees

With Thanksgiving officially over, everyone is gearing up for Christmas. For those who have not already, its time to put up the Christmas decorations and the annual Christmas tree.
Most people put up a tree in their homes whether it is fake or real but many don't put much thought into how they are grown.
I highly recommend this video! If nothing else, its something to chat about while decorating with the family.

Do you decorate with a real Christmas tree or a fake one?
We used to use real ones when I was a child, but now we use a beautiful fake one every year. I like the fake more for a few reasons:
1) the lights are already strung! This saves so much hassle!
2) It saves money, we dont have to buy a tree every year!
3) Less mess! No shedding needles to sweep up every day and you dont have to make sugar water for it.
4) and finally, I'm a tree hugger! I love nature and cant stand the thought of cutting a tree down from the mountains or even at a farm. Sorry, but I'm a hippy at heart. ;-)

What do you think? Real or fake?

P.S  - Whether your tree is real or fake, it would be a great contestant in our Christmas Tree Contest! Details coming soon....

  1. I am also a hippie at heart. Nature, tree-hugger. A fake tree adorns our house every year.

  2. Nice! We just put up our fake tree yesterday. Im very proud of it and it does look pretty realistic! I also found some scented ornament thingys to hang from the tree to give it a pine scent. Ill try to do a blog post or something about those.
Ive been a tree hugger my whole life.
    Thanks for commenting!

  3. Hey! Just wanted to let you know we have our Christmas link up is up and running! Hope you can join us! :)

  4. Thanks for sharing the video!! Very interesting....never knew any if that!!

Glad I came across your blog at Dixie & Dottie!! Look forward to reading in the future!
    Take care,

  5. I have a faux tree that Iam decorating now. When our children were little we always went into the woods to chop down a real one.
I loved the time together and the hot chocolate tasted so good afterwards. My mom used to do the same thing when we were young and the memories I have are of a wonderful happy and spiritual time.
We put ours up so early now that a real wood would be dried out by the time christmas got here.
    Love your blog

I love your comments, they make my day!!! :-D
I will try to reply to each and everyone of them either here or on your blog, but if I get caught up and dont get a chance to reply, rest assured, I read every single one of them and they always make me smile!
